The Quartier Potsdamer Platz is one of the most exciting and diverse places in the capital. Every day, up to 100,000 people are coming to this place to experience the unique blend of art, entertainment, shopping and cosmopolitan flair - and, not least, to feel the breath of history. Before the Second World War, Potsdamer Platz was one of the busiest squares in Europe. In the square stood the first traffic light in Europe. One time a year it takes place the Belinare. More than 400 films will be presented in different sections. With more than 325,000 tickets sold and about 490,000 moviegoers in total (including accredited trade visitors), the Berlinale is the largest public festival in the world.
